Model Train
Below are a series of drawings showing the various parts of the train I have modeled in CAD. I learned a lot of new functions in Inventor and I had fun making this train despite some frustrations along the way.
Conclusion Question Answers
- Drawings are composed of different line types to show different features of a product for example a dashed line represents a hidden feature.
- Sectional views allow for items to be more easily dimensioned and can allow you to more clearly see hidden or obstructed features of an object.
- Auxiliary views allow a person to more clearly see a surface that is angled or at a slant without distortion.
- Symbols for types of holes can be less confusing, more universally understood, and less time consuming to decipher than a written description.
- Algebraic equations can allow you to scale an object as well as make more precise changes in measurements of an item.
- The three types of constraints I used in the making of my model train are mate, flush, and insert.
- The advantage to computer models over other alternatives is that they are more easily changed and manipulated.
